Following a review of its organisational structure, Mater Group – comprising Mater Health, Mater Research and Mater Education - have aligned their strategies and highlighted 5 key clinical streams for future growth and investment, with Cancer Care Services being one of these. Additionally, the Mater has implemented further strategic recommendations in integrating the areas of health, education and research with a vision to deliver world-class healthcare services. With a patient-centred focus, the Mater is looking for someone with strong clinical leadership experience in medical oncology and/or haematology to lead the Cancer Care Service through an exciting period of growth and integration. The Mater is uniquely placed in the Australian context to become an internationally renowned academic health science centre, given its multiple sites, service lines and public and private healthcare focus.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer Mater Health, the Director of Cancer Care Services will lead clinical operations, governance, policy and practice development, as well as integrating health services with the education and research activities in this stream. The person will have line responsibility for medical leaders in the Cancer Care Services Stream, as well as the Cancer Care Services Director of Nursing and Cancer Care Services Business Lead, two recent strategic appointments. The Director will be a member of the cross-organisational Mater Clinical Council, and work closely with the other Clinical Directors and other key executives.
