Part of UnitingCare Health, St Stephen’s Hospital is a private healthcare provider owned by the Uniting Church, and is the only not-for-profit provider of private hospital services on the Fraser Coast.  The hospital provides a comprehensive range of inpatient medical services, as well as day surgery.  Services include Ophthalmology, Surgical Paediatric Services (low risk), Urology, Endoscopy, Oncology, Renal Dialysis, General Medical, Coronary Care, Sleep Laboratory Services, Respiratory Medicine, Gynaecology, Colorectal Surgery, Orthopaedics and more complex General Surgery to higher acuity patients with higher co-morbidities.

Currently in Stage 1 of its development, the state-of-the-art hospital has 96 inpatient beds, 6 renal dialysis chairs and 6 day oncology chairs. This will be expanded to 132 inpatient beds, then to 180 beds in Stage 2, and therefore there are exciting prospects in relation to construction and planning that present opportunities for expansion and partnership.  This General Manager position offers a fantastic opportunity to continue the growth, prosperity and development of a range of services, and to strengthen workforce capability and enhance clinical outcomes for patients.

UnitingCare Health is looking for an experienced hospital executive with a track record of commercial and strategic health management in a private hospital setting to lead St Stephen’s Hospital over the coming years.  Recognising that the highest performing healthcare organisations can demonstrate the value of strong relationships between the leader and clinicians, the appointee is required to take a front and centre role in developing and maintaining positive physician relationships.
