Description

The University of Hull invites applications for a Professor of Nursing / Midwifery to advance Nursing or Midwifery research nationally and internationally and contribute to developing and maintaining the University as an international centre of excellence for this area, through research and publication, teaching, networking and consultancy.

The University of Hull is establishing a new Faculty of Health Sciences, which presents an exciting opportunity to bring the School of Health and Social Work, the School of Life Sciences and Hull York Medical School into more co-ordinated and effective alignment, to raise the profile of health sciences at Hull, and to forge innovative research, teaching and enterprise collaborations. It will give the University a powerful foundation on which to grow the area in size, quality and reputation.

Our vision is to be a world leader in well-designed applied health research, and to conduct research of relevance to our local area and the population in general. We are seeking to appoint an academic leader who will enable us to attain this vision. The successful applicant will be a leader in their field with a national or international profile, and with the ability and ambition to build their reputation.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with a strong research track record in either maternal health, sexual health or reproductive health, or in Social and Psychological Research into Long Term Conditions (SPARC). Experience of psychometrics and quantitative research methods, or mixed methods, is of particular interest, and the successful applicant will provide strong research leadership and develop a performance research culture by building and nurturing a team of researchers and methodologists.
