As the retained search firm for this opportunity, this is a commercially focused opportunity based in Adelaide working one of Australia’s service provided success stories. Spotless, a Downer company, is the largest integrated facilities services provider throughout Australia and New Zealand. With a 70-year history behind the growth of many businesses and contribution to quality public services, Spotless is renowned for innovating large scale service demand and asset performance for unique customer experiences. This is a new role which will be central to supporting one of Adelaide’s premier healthcare providers, and a key leadership role for Spotless in South Australia.

As the Business & Commercial Manager, you will be the central person responsible for overseeing this organisation, through the lens of commercial performance. The services and context of these are broad and varied including biomedical engineering facilities, facilities maintenance, cleaning, catering, security and other elements which are critical to operations. The role will focus on working with the respective stakeholders and line managers to understand costs and processes, the financial implications and look to improve or make these services as efficient as you can, yet maintaining quality outcomes. This will include driving positive cashflow outcomes through cash management, providing commercial and contract advice, maintaining registers and holdings of all documentation associated with delivery of financial services and ensuring all financial contractual outcomes are governed and delivered. You will lead a small team in delivery of these and other services. This role has a small team across accounting and payroll, they will lead.

The successful person will have a strong demonstrated record in commercial management positions. This will be combined with clear positive outcomes that are articulated in a way that is concise, effective and illustrates strong communication skills, when it comes to stakeholder relationships and service. Although not an essential requirement, it will be preferred that you have a post tertiary accounting qualification in CA/CPA/CIMA or another which is internationally recognised. If you come from the healthcare sector, by way of hospitals or other service providers, in a finance leadership role this could be a great step into broader services firm. The breadth of relationships will require someone who is comfortable to work a variety of different people. Finally, your reporting, financial stewardship and management experience, will all come together to in the assessment for this position.
