Healthdirect Australia is the leading provider of trusted digital health and telehealth services in Australia. It is a Government-owned, not-for-profit organisation that works in partnership with Commonwealth, State and Territory governments to help address key priorities across the health, ageing and social sectors.
Their portfolio includes the popular healthdirect nurse triage telehealth service, and they are playing a key role in the Government’s response to COVID-19 and the vaccine rollout, developing solutions such as the National Coronavirus Helpline and the Vaccine Eligibility Checker and Clinic Service Finder.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) has executive accountability for strategic clinical leadership across the business to support the effective assurance, governance and evaluation of the portfolio of services. The role is responsible for providing assurance that services are clinically appropriate and safe, by establishing systems and processes that monitor and measure safety, quality and risk management within service design, delivery, and operations. Leading the Clinical Governance team, the role reports to senior stakeholders on safety, quality and risk management strategies for service delivery and leads the Board committee responsible for clinical oversight.
In the year ahead, the CMO will work to further refine the delineation between clinical oversight and operations, ensuring that clinical safety and governance remain the bedrock of the organisation’s value proposition as it meets the demands of emergent models.
We are seeking an outstanding qualified health executive who can clearly articulate the value of telehealth and virtual healthcare solutions. Candidates will have a career record that will have credibility with stakeholders. Experience within the telehalth/digital health sector, or in delivering a technology program within a health care setting, will be highly regarded. .
