Diabetes Australia was established in 1984 and is the national body for people affected by all types of diabetes and those at risk. The organisation is a respected and valued source of information, advice and views, utilised by the government and the community. Through leadership, prevention, management and research, the organisation is committed to reducing the impact of diabetes.

Reporting directly to the Group CEO, Diabetes Australia, the CEO NSW/ACT will play an essential role at a time of National reform. As Diabetes Australia seeks to centralise and consolidate its corporate services to improve efficiency and impact, the CEO, ACT/NSW, will act as a figurehead for change within the organisation, leading to enhanced accountability, and strategic focus.

The new CEO ACT/NSW will lead a program, in collaboration with the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS), to address the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, through a culturally sensitive delivery unit. The Head of this delivery unit will report directly to the CEO, ACT/NSW.

In addition, the CEO, ACT/NSW, will guide the Head of ACT/NSW Operations, the Manager of My Health for Life (MH4L) programs, and the Manager of ACT/NSW -based health and education services. Balancing strategic and operational responsibilities, the CEO, of ACT/NSW, will not only design and disseminate strategic initiatives, but also play a key role in their successful implementation and delivery; this is a hands-on role for a credible and respected individual who leads from the front.

We are seeking an outstanding leader with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications aligned to executive leadership
  • A track record in fostering a positive culture that retains and attracts talent
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles

The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and networking skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
