Echuca Regional Health (ERH) is a dynamic and innovating organisation servicing the catchment areas of the Shire of Campaspe and Murray River Council. Now in its 140th year, the health service has an operating budget of $115 million and a staff base of 977 representing 603 equivalent full-time staff. ERH comprises 113 beds providing a comprehensive range of services including emergency, medical, sub-acute, surgical, maternity, paediatric, urology, orthopaedic, ophthalmology, dental, chemotherapy and haemodialysis services. ERH also encompasses a residential aged care service, Glanville Village, which accommodates 60 residents.
ERH is seeking to appoint a new Executive Director Medical Services (EDMS) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO). The EDMS/CMO is a key appointment within a multi-disciplinary executive team. The position is highly strategic and accountable for providing leadership and expert advice to the Executive and the Board, as well as taking responsibility and leadership for reporting, clinical governance, medical workforce management, education and training for medical practitioners, postgraduates, medico-legal support and clinical service planning. This is a key position with a diverse level of stakeholder engagement and service partnerships.
To qualify for this position, you will have specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia and fellowship or Associate Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators or equivalent. You will have significant experience in medical leadership and management, including workforce planning. Experience in clinical strategy development, planning, implementation and evaluation is highly desirable, as is a demonstrated ability to engage with a diverse medical workforce and a range of internal and external stakeholders.
