The General Manager will be responsible for clinical service delivery and overall performance of this hospital and other smaller town hospitals. The role will provide both strategic and operational advice and guidance as part of the executive leadership team. It will encompass both primary, acute and post-acute care. Ensuring patient flow, models of care and efficiencies are maxmised to bring the best care and outcomes about for the patients are core elements to the role. The LHD has an existing policy and procedural framework to work against and looking at improvements in this will provide the scope of work and equally the opportunity for the General Manager.
Some of the day-to-day elements include ensuring compliance is strong across the health services and working to NSW Health the LHD policies. Ensure that the financial management is robust and within budget. Naturally, leadership of this health service is critical and ensuring a positive, transparent approach is applied to create a culture whereby staff and community engagement is strong. Collaboration is imperative to the success of this position and will cover a broad range of stakeholders across government, community and private practice organisations alike.
The successful candidate will bring a strong background of healthcare leadership, and that experience will have involved complex environments with demonstrated outcomes in improved quality, safety and patient outcomes. This will suit a person moving from either a corporate services or clinical operational leadership position, into a strategic position. This would most likely be in an existing Director level position, either in an LHD or large metro or regional hospital.
