One Foot Forward; Raising funds for mental health
With mental health being on the forefront of everyone’s mind during this years unprecedented events, the team at Ccentric wanted mental health to be one of our key focus areas both in raising awareness and raising funds for several key projects across Australia. As a result we have entered a team in this year’s One Foot Forward walk to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute.
Having experienced first hand how the Black Dog Institute works through the Mental Health in the Workplace course, we know how valuable their efforts are.
Some facts:
Mental illness is very common. 1 in 5 people experience symptoms of mental illness each year. That’s more than 5 million people in Australia. The most common of these illnesses are anxiety and depression.
Unfortunately, less than half of all people in Australia experiencing the symptoms of mental illness will seek professional help – often leading to tragic consequences for most who don’t.
In fact, suicide is the leading cause of death in people in Australia aged 15-44 years.
Our Team
One Foot Forward is a virtual walk to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute and their programs such as iBobbly, BITE BACK and COVID-19 Resources. This year we have a team participating made up of Andrew Gemmell, Gabby Petrovski, Kate Ponsford, Pam Lubrainschik and Tahlia Mitchell-Kerr.
If you are able to, our team fundraising page is here, alternatively you can donate to an individual by clicking their photo of name below.
