In 2014 the Board of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and the Ministry of Health chose the Ccentric Group to undertake a search for a new Chief Executive for the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. The district is one of New South Wales’ largest and most complex having five teaching hospitals, almost a million local residents and housing major trauma and other complex state-wide services.
Of particular interest to the Board was the need for Ccentric to understand the complexities of the need for deep cultural change, realignment of services and our focus on excellence in patient. The Board was very pleased with the extent of Ccentric’s engagement on these crucial issues and this resulted in their success in accurately defining a brief and targeting excellent candidates from four countries.
Ccentric’s understanding of our needs, and their translation of that understanding into the preparation of an excellent shortlist of candidates, accompanied by good advice, was appreciated by the Board. The interview process was geared to gaining from each candidate, evidence of their personal capacity, critical thinking and the likelihood of excellent performance in a dynamic environment.
The summary advice following the interviews was a helpful step in our choosing the candidate that met our criteria and had the core personal competencies to lead such a large organisation through great change.
