Whos Moving

Who’s Moving August 2019 tracks who has moved careers across the Healthcare, Healthcare Academia and Not-for-profit sectors, globally. At Ccentric we have had the pleasure of working with excellent candidates over the last month and would like to congratulate the following on their new positions.

Mr Steven Rubic has been appointed the new National CEO of Healthscope, recently acquired by Brookfield Asset Management. Mr Rubic had been the CEO and Managing Director of I-MED since 2012.

Mr Frank Bazik is moving to the Central Coast as the new General Manager, Gosford Hospital. Recently Mr Bazik has been a Hospital General Manager within Norther Sydney Local Health District.

Ms Fiona Allsop is the new Director of Nursing at Northern Beaches Hospital; she has most recently been the Executive Director of Nursing at Children’s Health Queensland.

Mr Jef Ma is the new Director of Finance & Corporate Services at Norwest Private Hospital, leaving his role at Kincare as System Transformation Manager, Finance.

Mr Chris Bone is the newly appointed General Manager of Wyong Hospital. Mr Bone has most recently been the Deputy Director General & Chief Operating Officer at Canberra Health Services / ACT Health.

Mr Adam Leonard has moved from his position as General Manager People and Culture at Anglicare, joining South Western Sydney Local Health District as the new Director of People and Culture.

Mr Peter Spryszynski has been appointed the inaugural Country Manager of Q-bital Australia. Mr Spryszynski is leaving his role at Siemen’s as General Manager Advanced Therapies and Regional Sales Manager QLD.

Ms Christina Hardy is leaving the Garvan Institute of Medical Research where she has been Group Legal Counsel. She is moving to Opal Aged Care as General Counsel and Company Secretary.

Professor Annette Briley is joining Flinders University as Professor of Midwifery, migrating from the United Kingdom where she has been working at Guys’ and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust and King’s College London.

Other People on the Move

Mr Nick Ryan is joining Lutheran Services as its new CEO; he has recently been interim CEO of Southern Cross Care Queensland.

Professor Dawn Freshwater will take up the position of Vice-Chancellor at the University of Auckland in March 2020. Leaving her role as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Western Australia, Professor Freshwater will become the first female vice-chancellor at the University of Auckland.

Mr Richard Lizzio has joined ICON Group as the new Group COO; leaving his role as Group Executive, Health at UnitingCare Queensland.

Ms Kate Goodwin has started her new role as National Nursing Service Development Manager at GenesisCare. Ms Goodwin has recently been Program Manager, Clinical Services Plan at Mater Group.

Mr Ian Grisold is the new State Manager Victoria and Tasmania at Healthscope. He was previously the Regional CEO of St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne.

Adjunct Professor Sue Hawes is the new Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer for Northern Territory Health, she was previously the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery for the Top End Health Service.

Ms Kate Gillan is leaving her role as CEO of Great Ocean Road Health (the amalgamation of Otway Health and Lorne Community Hospital) to join Barwon Health as the new Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer.

Mr Frank Tracey has been promoted to the Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Health Queensland, previously the Executive Director Strategy and Planning / Executive Director Community, Mental Health and Statewide Services.

Ms Nicole Karagiannis is now the Executive Leader People and Culture at Disability Services Australia. She was most recently the Director of People and Culture, South Australia Region at Calvary Health Care.

Dr Karen Luxford has started her new role as Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards, leaving her position as the CEO of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons.

The Honourable Julie Bishop has been appointed Chancellor of the Australian National University, becoming the first female to hold the position.

Professor Catherine Whelan has been appointed as the new Dean of the Sydney School of Business at The University of Notre Dame Australia. Professor Whelan was previously the Professor of Accounting at the Georgia College & State University.
