Who’s Moving August 2020

Who’s Moving August 2020 tracks who has moved careers across the healthcare, academic healthcare, life sciences, not-for-profit, human services and digital health sectors, globally. At Ccentric we have had the pleasure of working with an excellent group of candidates over the last month and would like to congratulate the following on their new positions.


Mr Reza Barzegari has commenced in the position of General Manager, Mount Private Hospital in Perth.


Other People on the Move

Mr Wally Bourdelov has joined St Andrew’s Toowomba Hospital as CEO, leaving Healthscope where he was State Business Development Manager & General Manager Sunnybank Private Hospital.

Professor Meredith Makeham is leaving her post at the Australian Digital Health Agency to join the University of Sydney Faculty of Medicine and Health as Associate Dean of Community and Primary Healthcare. Dr Steve Humbleton has been appointed as Clinical Advisor for a 6 months period to replace her.

Ms Cheryl De Zilwa has commenced as the new CEO of annecto, leaving her role as COO at Zenitas Healthcare.

Ms Violet Platt will be joining Palliative Care Victoria as the new CEO, leaving her position in Western Australia as Co-Director & Director of Nursing of the WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network.

Dr Matthew Miles has left his role as CEO of MS Australia to join the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Mark Simpson has been promoted to a new role at I-Med Network as General Manager Government Relations and External Partnerships. Mark was previously, General Manager Regional. Also at I-Med, Mr Josh Zucal has been promoted from his role as General Manager WA to COO.

Mr Charles Moore has been announced as the successor for Ross Lowe as CEO of BpatistCare who is leaving the organisation to focus on his role in the Aged Care Royal Commission. Mr Moore has been the CEO of the Sydney Olympic Park Authority for the last 3 years.

Following the departure of Dr Abbe Anderson, Ms Libby Dunstan has been appointed as CEO of the Brisbane North Primary Health Network. Ms Dunstan has been Deputy CEO since August 2017.

Associate Professor Ruth Stewart has been appointed as Australia’s new National Rural Health Commissioner. Associate Professor Stewart has most recently been Director of Clinical Training and Support at James Cook University.

Ms Sylvia Powell has joined Resthaven Inc as their new Executive Manager People and Culture, leaving her role at Eldercare as General Manager People and Culture.

Professor Andy Bridges has been appointed Dean, Higher Education College of the Chisholm Institute in Melbourne. Professor Bridges was most recently with Central Queensland University in various roles including Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Strategic Development and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic.

Mr Peter Buchanan previously the Operations Manager for Radiation Oncology at Alfred Health has joined Capital Radiology as National Quality and Compliance Manager.

Mr Brett Thompson has joined Interactive Services as Chief Executive Officer. Brett has previously been General Manager Westmead & Auburn Hospitals, Director Operations at Murrumbidgee Local Health Network and COO at Northern Adelaide Local Health Network.

Mr Mark Hawthorne has joined Waikato District Health Board as Executive Director of Finance, Procurement and Supply Chain, leaving his role in Perth as Executive Director Finance and Performance at South Metropolitan Health Service.
