Who’s Moving February 2020

Whos Moving February 2020 tracks who has moved careers across the healthcare, academic healthcare, life sciences, not-for-profit, human services and digital health sectors, globally. At Ccentric we have had the pleasure of working with an excellent group of candidates over the last month and would like to congratulate the following on their new positions.


Mr Thomas Pamminger is leaving his position as CFO at Northern Adelaide Local Health Network to take up the newly created position of Director, Finance & Business Advisory Services at Central Adelaide Local Health Network.

Ms Jude Emmer has been appointed State Manager Queensland at St Vincent’s Care Services, most recently she was Chief Executive Officer at St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital. Jude is replacing Ms Julia Lawrence who has taken on the new role of Executive General Manager Service Delivery.

Mr David Harper has been promoted to State Manager Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia at Healthscope where he was previously CEO of Gold Coast Private Hospital, Pacific Private Hospital and Tweed Day Surgery.


Other People on the Move

Mr Stephen Gameren who has been Healthscope State Manager NSW & ACT since 2010, has been appointed National Business Development Manager. Replacing him, Ms Deborah Fogarty has been appointed State Manager NSW & ACT leaving her role as CEO of Norwest Private Hospital. Ms Suzanne Hall has commenced as the new CEO of Norwest Private Hospital, leaving her role as CEO/DON at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee.

Professor Jon Watson will be leaving his role as Dean School of Medicine at Deakin University to take up the role of Executive Dean Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Western Australia.

Professor Amit Chakma is moving to Perth to take up the role of Vice Chancellor of the University of Western Australia, replacing Professor Dawn Freshwater in July 2020. Professor Chakma has previously been President & Vice Chancellor at the University of Western Ontario and Vice President Academic & Provost at the University of Waterloo.

Ms Cheyne Chalmers has moved back to New Zealand where she is the new Chief Operating Officer of Ryman Healthcare. Ms Chalmers leaves her role with Monash Health as Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer which she has held since 2009.

Ms Bernadette Gotch has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Disability Services Australia, leave her role as Director Service Delivery at NSW Rural Doctors Network.

Professor Mark Hoffman has been announced as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the University of Newcastle beginning March 2020. Professor Hoffman has been the Dean of Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) since 2015 and with UNSW since 2007.

Mr Martyn Roberts has been appointed the new Group Chief Financial Officer at Ramsay Health Care, leaving his role as Group CFO at Coca-Cola Amatil.

Dr Elaine Pretorius has been appointed the Executive Director of Medical Services at Limestone Coast Local Health Network, leaving her role as Divisional Director of Medicine at Northern Adelaide Local Health Network.

Ms Jill Rowe has left her role as HR Manager at Getz Healthcare, now joining Interrelate as Head of People, Culture and Workforce Development.

Ms Sharon McIntyre has left her role as National Director of Nursing at Vision Eye Institute to join St John of God Health Care as the new Director of Clinical Services and SJOG Frankston Hospital.

Dr Neale Fong has been appointed Chief Executive at Bethesda Healthcare, where he has been Chairman since 2008.

Mr Umit Agis is the new Chief Executive Officer at Far West Local Health District. He has most recently been working in Adelaide as Director of Mental Health for Country Health South Australia.

Mr Gary Seller has been promoted to Managing Director of Mundipharma following the retirement of Jane Orr. Gary has been with Mundipharma since 2007 in various sales roles and most recently as Director of People and Performance.

Dr Shrey Viranna has been appointed the new CEO and Executive Director of I-Med Radiology Network, leaving his role as Group CEO of Life Healthcare Group.

Mr Darren Schwedes has joined Queensland Diagnostic Imaging as General Manager Queensland, leaving his role as General Manager of UnitingCare Medical Imaging.

Ms Margaret Bennett has left her role as CEO of Northeast Health Wangaratta to join Southern NSW Local Health District as CEO.

Professor Brendan Murphy has been promoted from his role as Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health to Secretary of the department, following the retirement of Glenys Beauchamp.
