Whos Moving October 2020

Whos Moving October 2020 tracks who has moved careers across the healthcare, academic healthcare, life sciences, not-for-profit, human services and digital health sectors, globally. At Ccentric we have had the pleasure of working with an excellent group of candidates over the last month and would like to congratulate the following on their new positions.


Ms Rachelle McVittie is joining the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood as NSW Laboratory Manager, leaving her role at Western Sydney University as Centre Manager, International Centre for Neuromorphic Systems.

Mrs Claire Fogarty will be joining the executive leadership team of Vision Eye Institute as the new National Director of Nursing.

Dr Frances Peart has joined Jeta Gardens as Director of Nursing. Frances has most recently been in interim DON roles.

Dr John Kemsley has joined Aveo Retirement Group as General Manager, Residential Aged Care. He has recently been with St Vincent’s Care Services.


Other People on the Move

Professor Kevin Hall is moving back to Canada this year to take up the post of Vice-Chancellor at the University of Victoria in British Columbia. He is leaving his position at the University of Newcastle as Deputy Vice Chancellor Global Engagement and Partnerships.

Mr Lee Bakerman has joined Virtus Health as Group General Manager, People & Culture. Lee has most recently been General Manager Human Resources at Broadspectrum.

Professor Tyrone Carlin takes over as Vice Chancellor and President at Southern Cross University. Professor Carlin has been working at Southern Cross University since 2018 as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic. Professor Carlin is taking over from Professor Adam Shoemaker who has taken the post of Vice Chancellor at Victoria University.

Ms Liz Forsyth is taking over as CEO at Northcott Disability Services, having been the General Manager, Support Living at Northcott until 2018. She has since been the CEO of CareSouth. Ms Forsyth takes over from Kerry Stubbs.

Professor Patricia Davidson has been announced as the next Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wollongong, the first female to hold that role. Professor Davidson is currently in the USA working at Johns Hopkins University as Dean of the School of Nursing.

Ms Annette Abrahams has joined St Vincent’s Care Services as the Executive General Manager Corporate Services and CFO. Ms Abrahams has recently been the CFO at Alpha-H following ten years as CFO at Cura Day Hospitals.

Following the resignation of Ms Natalia Vukolova, Mr Mark Nevin has been announced as Interim CEO at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. Mr Nevin was previously the Head of Policy and Advocacy.

Ms Lisa Davies Jones has been appointed into the Chief Executive position at Mackay Hospital and Health Service, moving into the role in November 2020.

Ms Christine Cox has joined Healthscope as Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager, leaving her 18 year tenure at Medibank Private where she was most recently Head of Provider Relations.

Mr Danny Sims has announced his retirement from Ramsay Health Care as Chief Executive Officer Australia. He will revert back to his former role as Chief Operating Officer for a period of time to help with the transition. Current Chief of Staff at Ramsay Health Care, Carmel Monaghan will take over as CEO.

Ms Filomena Ciavarella has joined Regis Group as Executive General Manager Strategy, Quality and Improvement; leaving her role at The Royal Children’s Hospital as Executive Director Strategy, Quality and Improvement.

Following the retirement of Professor Greg Craven, Professor Zlatko Skrbis has commenced as Vice Chancellor and President at Australian Catholic University. Professor Skrbis joined ACU in 2018 as Deputy Vice Chancellor Education.

Mr Jorge Silveira has joined Virtus Health as Chief Digital Health Officer, moving from Goulburn Valley Health where he was Chief Information Officer.

Ms Lily Liu has been appointed Director Digital Health at Western Health. She has been the EMR Program Manager at Western Health for the last two years.

Ms Tina Chinery has been permanently appointed in the role of Chief Executive at Cairns & Hinterland HHS. Previously the Chief Operating Officer, Tina has been acting in the Chief Executive role since March of 2020.

Mr Tim Kelsey, former CEO of the Australian Digital Health Agency has been appointed CEO of PKS Holdings, formerly Pacific Knowledge Systems.
